Scripture & Insight:
“If anyone wants to do God’s will, he will know about my teaching, whether it is from God or whether I speak from my own authority.” John 7:17
The pursuit of truth is not just an intellectual exercise, but a lived experience. We must put God’s teachings into practice in order to truly understand them. We can’t just theorize about God’s will; we must embody it in our daily lives. The atonement, for instance, is not just a theological concept, but a reality that is grasped through personal sacrifice and obedience. Truth is not merely a abstract idea, but a living, breathing reality that is revealed as we incarnate it in our flesh and blood. As we walk the path of obedience, we come to understand the word of the Lord in a deeper, more profound way.
Reflect and Ask yourself
Take one area of your life where you feel convicted to make a change, and commit to making that change for the next week.
Prayer
Most Gracious God, I commit to walking in obedience to Your will, knowing that it is on the path of hallowed life that I will come to know Your truth. I trust that my discoveries will be made on the roads of obedience, where Your lamps shine brightly to guide me. Teach me, dear Lord, and lead me deeper into Your truth. For Christ’s sake, I pray. Amen.
