Chosen and Ordained

Scripture & Insight:

“I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains.” —JOHN 15:16.

What a comforting thought that God has chosen me, and ordained me for a specific purpose! I am not aimlessly drifting through life, without direction or purpose. God has a plan for my life, and it’s a plan that leads to fruitfulness and success. I can trust that my way is appointed, and my end is secured in the holy grace of the Lord. This knowledge gives me confidence and direction, freeing me to live a life that honors God and brings forth lasting fruit.

Reflect and Ask yourself

What is God’s plan for my life? How can I stay focused on my purpose and avoid drifting through life?

Prayer

O Lord my God, give me this assurance that I have a place in your purpose. Let me meet Thy will moment by moment. Let me complete my journey through fidelity to the immediate task. Let me consecrate the present moment and so hallow the entire year. For Christ’s sake. Amen.
