Helps For Leaders

Who are you becoming?

🔑 Big Idea:

Your work is not just something you do — it’s shaping who you are.

📖 Scripture:

“Those who make them become like them; so do all who trust in them.”Psalm 115:8 (ESV)

💡 Key Insight:

What you create ends up recreating you. Every system you build, every goal you pursue, every decision you make — they’re not neutral. They quietly shape your character, values, and vision. Work is spiritual, because worship is woven into it. The Hebrew word avodah means both work and worship, reminding us that our daily output reflects our deepest devotion. If we’re not consciously offering our work to God, we may unconsciously shape ourselves in the image of idols — productivity, profit, influence, approval. But when we worship the Living God through our work, we are remade in His image, becoming whole, wise, and fully alive leaders.

🔍 Reflect & Act:

  • Ask yourself: Who or what am I really worshipping in my work?
  • Recalibrate your motives — don’t just work for success, approval, or provision. Work as unto the Living God.
  • Let your leadership be formed by divine purpose, not cultural pressure.

🙏 Power Prayer:

Lord, help me not to make gods out of good things. Shape me into your image as I offer my work to you. May my labor reflect my love for you — not idols. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
