Have I True Faith?

Saving faith involves two key actions:

Belief — accepting what God says about Jesus Christ as true.

Trust — personally relying on Jesus as your Savior.

If you believe what God’s Word says—that Jesus Christ, by the grace of God, tasted death for you, and that God has transferred the punishment for your sins onto Christ—and you are trusting Him right now as your personal Savior, then you have saving faith.

Your faith might feel weak, but what matters most is not how strong your faith is, but whom your faith is in. If you are trusting in Jesus, even weak faith is saving faith—because it rests on the right person.

The safest and wisest thing any sinner can do is to trust Jesus with their soul. You might make mistakes in many areas of life, but you will never go wrong by placing your soul in the hands of Christ.

Satan often tries to convince young believers that trusting Jesus is somehow arrogant or presumptuous. But it’s not presumption—it’s obedience. The Bible makes this clear:
“This is His commandment, that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ.” — 1 John 3:23

Daily Trust

Your strength and comfort as a believer come from constantly repeating that simple act of trust.
Salvation is always in the present tense:

“I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, trusting only Thee.”
“I live a moment at a time.”
“Jesus, save me now.”

Even Christians who have walked with Christ for fifty years don’t rely on some stored-up supply of grace. Just like young believers, they must come to Jesus daily—trusting, depending, and receiving fresh help from Him—just as the Israelites gathered manna every morning.
