Step Into a Larger Life

COME ye after Me and I will make you fishers of men. Mark 1:17

The calls of the Master are always invitations to something greater than ourselves. Like the sound of a bugle summoning us to action, His call challenges us to grow beyond what we are. When we respond, we are transformed into bigger, better versions of ourselves. The Lord leads us out of self-centeredness into a greater sense of purpose and community. He moves us from selfish ambition to selfless love for others, guiding us to seek Christ above all. In answering His call, we stop living solely for ourselves and become fishers of men, sharing His love and truth with the world.

Reflect and apply

Think about a recent opportunity or invitation from God that stretched you beyond your comfort zone. How did answering this call help you grow spiritually? Write down one way you can further expand your focus from self-centeredness to serving others in Christ’s name.

Prayer

Gracious Father, I hear and embrace Your call into the larger, abundant life of Christ. Draw me out of selfishness, for it confines my soul to a space too small to thrive. Lead me into the lives of others with love and purpose. By Your marvelous grace, empower me to draw others to You and win them for the Lord. In the name of the Savior, Amen.
