🔑 Big Idea:
Jesus is not just Savior—He is King. And that changes everything.
📖 Scripture:
“The beginning of the good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.”
— Mark 1:1 (NRSV)
💡 Key Insight:
Mark doesn’t begin with Jesus’s miracles or teachings. He starts with a declaration: “The beginning of the good news of Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God” (Mark 1:1). These are royal titles. “Messiah” means Anointed One—God’s promised King. “Son of God” echoes Psalm 2 and 2 Samuel 7, where Israel’s king is given divine authority. So when we say Jesus is the Christ, we’re not just affirming His identity—we’re submitting to His reign. Jesus didn’t come to take sides; He came to take over. His Kingdom rewrites our priorities, realigns our purpose, and rules every area of our lives—including our work, relationships, and identity.
🛠 Reflect & Act:
- What does it mean in real life that Jesus is your King—not just your helper or teacher?
- How might your work, your leadership, or your daily habits change under Kingdom rule?
- Ask: Where am I still clinging to control where I should be bowing to the King?
🙏 Kingdom Prayer:
Jesus, You are not only the Savior of my soul, but the rightful King over all. Reign in me today. Let your Kingdom come in my thoughts, my work, my decisions, and my relationships. I choose your way—because you are my King. Amen.
