Prepare for God’s Powerful Work in You

🔑 Big Idea:
God wants to do more in and through you than you can imagine — but the road must be cleared first.
Mark 1:3 (NRSV)

📖 Scripture:
“The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.’”

💡 Key Insight:

Before Jesus stepped into public ministry, John the Baptist cried out, “Prepare the way of the Lord!” (Mark 1:3). That cry still rings true for every leader today. God doesn’t work through us without first working in us. Preparation begins with repentance — not just feeling sorry, but turning from what distracts, entangles, or competes with God’s direction. But repentance requires recognition: we must see how much we truly need Him. Awareness leads to surrender. And surrender clears the path for His Spirit to work mightily in and through us. Want to be used by God? Start by preparing the road.

🔍 Reflect & Act:

  • What might be cluttering God’s path in your heart today?
  • Do you see where you need to turn back — or turn deeper — toward God?
  • Ask the Spirit to help you clear out distractions and idols.
  • Make space today — spiritually and practically — for God to move.

🙏 Power Prayer:

Lord, prepare my heart for your work. Help me recognize what needs to change, and give me the grace to repent and return. Let nothing block your power in my life. Make a straight path in me for your Spirit to flow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
