Leading Without Letting Our Love Grow Cold

🔑 Big Idea:
Disruptive times can tempt leaders to lose heart — or worse, to lose love. But enduring leadership is rooted in enduring love.

📖 Scripture:
“And because of the increase of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
Matthew 24:12–13 (NRSV)

💡 Key Insight:
Jesus warns that in seasons of lawlessness, “the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). False messiahs and shallow promises will tempt leaders to trade love for control, fear, or cynicism. But true leadership in turbulent times means refusing to follow any path that avoids the cross. Instead, we lead from our identity in Christ, with tenacity for our people, and in the power of vulnerable love. Endurance is not just about surviving — it’s about remaining rooted in love when everything else shakes.

🔍 Reflect & Act:

  • Is your love growing stronger or colder in this season?
  • Are you leading from a place of identity in Christ, or reacting from fear or fatigue?
  • Recommit to leading with love, not self-protection. Refuse shortcuts that avoid the cross.
  • Don’t abandon those entrusted to you — lean in with grace, even when it’s hard.

🙏 Power Prayer:
God of enduring love, help me lead without letting my love grow cold. When fear rises, anchor me in your faithfulness. Teach me to lead like Jesus — with vulnerability, conviction, and sacrificial love. Let my leadership reflect your heart. In Christ’s name, Amen.
